Undead tower defense game for mobile

Necrosmith is a premium strategy title for mobile devices coming from developer Star Game Studio. It combines auto-battle gameplay with some roguelike elements and a supernatural theme. In it, players take on the role of necromancers, creating undead abominations from the remains of fallen enemies to fight for them and defend their towers.

Combining real-time strategic elements of a game like Bad North: Jotunn Edition with the fast-paced gameplay of Vampire Survivors, Necrosmith offers an experience that is both tactical and frenetic. It's complemented by charming pixel art and intuitive touch controls to round out the whole package.

Minions to do your bidding

In Necrosmith, you're a necromancer who mysteriously awakens to an unknown world and doesn't know how you got there. With the help of magical tools available and your cat companion, you will utilize the remains of the fallen to create undead servants to fight against hordes of enemies, while trying to find the blueprints to a ship that can return you home.

The gameplay in Necrosmith is that of an auto battler mixed with some light real-time strategy. You essentially collect the remains of fallen enemies to create monstrosities, be it skeletons, orcs, or even robots. You can even build a hybrid by combining different parts for unique results. What's more, you can unlock secret recipes with certain combinations that give out bonus stats.

Once brought to life, they'll move and attack autonomously, but you can also manually control them as needed. They will pick up blueprints for building the aforementioned ship and resources to upgrade your tower to provide perks like increased map view, unit stats, and more. That said, the gameplay can feel repetitive and shallow after a while without much in the way of variety.

Mix and match

All in all, Necrosmith is an interesting take on auto-battlers and strategy games that puts you in the shoes of the typical bad guy, for a change. It allows you to create pretty much any kind of undead creature you want, and the results are fun and interesting. The gameplay could use a bit more variety, though. Despite that, it's still worth checking out and playing.
